Meet Stephanie M. Carter…

Some dreams never leave you.

For more than 30 years, writing has been part of Stephanie’s life. As far back as being a child actually.

There were seasons when the dream of being a writer had to wait. Life was full, responsibilities came first, and like so many people who carry a book inside them, Stephanie learned that having a story to tell and actually getting that story onto the page are two very different things.

But the words never really went away.

Over the years, she continued to write, study, teach, and eventually publish her own books. Along the way, something else began to happen: other writers started trusting her with their words. She found herself helping authors develop their ideas, strengthen their manuscripts, edit their books, and navigate the sometimes-confusing road from a document on a computer to a book they could finally hold in their hands. That journey became Feathered Pen Books.

 Dr. Stephanie M. Carter, an author, editor, book coach, and publisher—and she understands what it means to carry a story for years.

Feathered Pen Books was created for writers who know they have something worth saying but may not know what comes next. Some arrive with nothing more than an idea. Others have notebooks filled with thoughts, half-written chapters, or a manuscript that has been sitting on their computer for years. And some have finished writing and simply need someone to help them navigate editing, formatting, cover design, publishing, and getting their book into the world.

Wherever you are in the process, Stephanie’s goal is to help make that journey feel clearer and more manageable.

She provides support with book coaching and development, manuscript critique, editing and proofreading, book formatting and design, cover design support, publishing and distribution, writing and ghostwriting assistance with some marketing and launch support.

I believe stories matter. A book can encourage someone, teach something, preserve a story, share hard-earned wisdom, strengthen faith, open a conversation, or remind another person that they are not alone.

Sometimes the book sitting inside one person is exactly what another person needs to read. Feathered Pen Books isn’t only about helping other people write. Stephanie is still writing her own stories too.

She knows the excitement of a new idea, the frustration of a difficult chapter, the vulnerability of putting your words in front of someone else, and the incredible feeling of finally seeing your name on the cover of a finished book.

That’s why she wants Feathered Pen to be more than a place where someone purchases a publishing service.

Her heart is that it be a place where writers are taken seriously, their voices are respected, and good stories are carefully helped from idea to manuscript to published book.

Because sometimes the hardest part of writing a book is simply believing that the words you’ve been carrying are worth putting on the page. Stephanie believes they are. Your story matters.
